Description
Achieving the best results with Up-Mark-It HB
New Concrete Floors: New concrete must be clean, sound, dry and fully cured and surface laitance removed preferably by enclosed shot blasting or mechanical grinding, a minimum strength of 25N/mm2 is required.
Existing Concrete Floors: Remove all dirt, oil, grease or other surface contaminants by enclosed shot blasting, scarification or mechanical grinding. Fats, oils or greases must be removed by mechanical means and detergent washing. Local repairs should be carried out using New Crete or Liquid Granite.
Coated Surfaces: Prepare the surface to ensure that there is an adequate mechanical key.
Priming: Open, porous substrates may require priming with Up-mark-It HB primer. If the substrate appears very weakand dusts easily the matrix of the screed can be strengthened by installing Up-mark-It HB Binder.
Temperatures: The ambient temperatures of the areas should not be allowed to fall below 10°C throughout the application and the curing period. Surface temperature must be above 5°C. Application is best using tape which can be removed immediately due to the high build solids within Up-mark-It HB.
